This ancient Christian cemetery located at the Kharga Oasis is one of the oldest cemeteries in the world functioning between the 3rd to the 7th century AD. The 263 tombs have unique dome shaped backs and offer insight on how they buried and honored the ones who passed at the time. The necropolis has a structure that served as a church with a beautiful mural on the ceiling that is well preserved and can still be seen today.
